All about our Charity Art Auction
Hangar 1’s first Charity Art Auction will see residents from the Refugee center at Tempelhof Airport displaying art and photography alongside renowned artists from across Europe. The unique event will take place on April 6th, 2017 from 7pm to 10pm, at SomoS Art House, Kottbusser Damm 95, Berlin.
On the night artworks from Robert Cervera, Freya Gabie and Christian Hundertmark and Patrick Hartl to name a few, will hang amongst the creativity of Hangar 1 residents, with all pieces donated by our professional artist collective being made available for purchase through an auction hosted by 13 year old Ali xx, one of the your people who live at Hangar 1. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Hangar 1, a non-profit organisation that runs weekly workshops with refugee kids in Tempelhof Airport and also hosts Future Coders, a course designed for teenagers who wish to learn the basics of web development. In addition, Hangar 1 has teamed up with Give Something Back to Berlin and Among Us, two organizations that also support war-zone migrants in the German capital.
Hangar 1 wanted to create an inclusive event to show the diversity of the talent involved and mix established artists with unknown or even future artistic talents found in the shelter. Artworks created by children and woman, who attend their workshops at the Tempelhof Refugee Center have been produced exclusively for the event, the result is a truly collaborative artistic experience.

After the event, Hangar 1 will host a private after party with the DJs and producers Spencer Parker and Trus’me who have earned their reputation as two of the city’s most vibrant and popular party connoisseurs. The location will be revealed to the invitees two days before the event.
Drinks will be provided by sponsors including Abyme Vodka, Solimate, and Michelberger’s Fountain of Youth. Hangar 1 is supported by Rubber Communications and Krill Music, among other Berlin-based organizations.
